this is the drop stitch soap sack.  nice little thing and so fast and simple to make but I do not like the seaming of the dropped sts edges.  I will try the "little shell stitch" sack and the "little fern leaf" sack sometime soon.  the sacks / savers really do make the prettiest little bags for small items apart from just soap.  The soap sacks are quite attractive just sitting on the vanity top but this one is already in use in the shower.  Smiley  The extra picture is to show the "self striping" of the sugar and cream country stripes cotton.  This project was too small and the wrong type to get the full effect (all in full view on one side LOL).

Grin  Thanks, Tweedie.  The yarn IS interesting and is very pretty in the ball (probably prettier than when worked).  I would love to get a cone of it and make a larger project to see how it really looks when it bands / stripes itself.  It must have been around for at least a couple of years.  I found this one ball at Michael's in Traverse City a couple of years ago...and have been hoarding it ever since.  LOL.  The colors go with the sea greens and sea blues in my little bathroom so ....    I will try a washcloth with what is left and see how THAT spreads the colors around.  (I checked the Lily S&C site online and they are still showing it as available.  They had at least one or two more of the "stripes" in other colors, as I recall.  Will have to look at Michael's & Hobby Lobby next time I go to Paducah).  ***  here ya go---all of the stripes collection:

Update:  I like using this in the shower and Don LOVES it!  He is impressed and thinks it is a nifty item.  I am impressed because it dries fairly fast and the soap inside is not getting or staying too soft nor "melting" away quicker than one would like.  I guess I will make more.  Grin

Grin  Thanks Bende!  I am working up a matching washcloth right now but am using the "little shells" stitch pattern.  Talk about PRETTY (and EASY).  I will use the little shells patt for another soap sack for sure.

Love those colors.  I might even have a ball of that same sugar & cream color.  I know I have a couple that I picked up on sale at Joanne's.  I'll have to try this little project if I get stuck on the slippers I'm learning or the afgahn.  I made one of these soap savers in crochet but the holes are too big.  I like this one better.  Have to try it out after my first lesson.  Am I getting ahead of myself, over anxious.  I think so.  My mind is going 90 miles an hour on what I want to make next.

You are a definite addict, Doreen!  Grin Cheesy  This little soap sack is a great and quick practice project and I also like the smaller holes compared to the crochet.
