I have a knitting question. I have to increase one stitch on each side of the end of a row.. which I get how to do. But then it says in later rows to 'take inc stich into pat' which I assume means doing something with the increased stitches in the pattern but I don't understand what its saying. If it meant decrease then I'd assume it'd say 'dec' and not this verbiage. For example, rows 1 - 4 you increase 1 stitch on each row, but when you repeat the row again obviously its now 1 stitch longer than it was when I did rows 1-4 to begin with.. so I have no idea what it's asking me to do when I repeat these rows and am told to 'take inc stitch into pat'. Can anyone assist?

I believe they are telling you to keep to your pattern and to incorporate the new stitches.
